- ➤ Yesterday, Saginaw City Council approved a six-month moratorium on AI data centers as Bendle Middle students moved to Bendle High after a roof collapse. - ➤ The Saginaw Public Schools Board reappointed President Charles Coleman, Vice President Janet H. Nash, and Treasurer Ruth Ann Knapp while naming Vera Harrison as board secretary during a meeting held Wednesday in Saginaw. Harrison fills the vacancy left by longtime board member Mattie Thompson. - ➤ Saginaw Township Community Schools approved an application for a new bond proposal on Jan. 12, with details pending state review and a future election for voter approval; the effort follows recent bond rejections for school improvements. MLive
- ➤ Bendle Middle School has reopened today after a roof collapse canceled classes, with all 260 children returning as the district begins repairs — work expected to continue over the next few days. WNEM

HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Saginaw County recorded three confirmed unsafe sleep infant deaths in 2025, down from 10 in 2024, as local health organizations led an education campaign on safe sleep practices. Overall juvenile deaths also declined from 56 to 41 (mostly stillbirths). MLive
