- ➤ Janae T. Bady, a CMU educator, was appointed to the Saginaw Public Schools board to fill the seat left by Kevin Rooker, who died Jan. 1. She will serve through 2028, completing the board’s full membership of seven officials. MLive
- ➤ Bridgeport-Spaulding Community Schools reinstated superintendent Mark Whelton on Monday night after a leave lasting two months following an investigation that found no evidence of wrongdoing+recall efforts are underway against board members who opposed extending his contract. ABC 12

- ➤ Michigan high school athletes can now profit from their name, image and likeness following new MHSAA rule changes—school involvement and collectives remain banned. The rules, effective today, allow students to sign NIL deals within a strict framework. WNEM
