- ➤ Delta College partnered with United Way of Saginaw County and the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan to host a mobile food pantry in downtown Saginaw — the event will serve residents starting later this week. WNEM
- ➤ Vinny’s Pizzeria in Bay City will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Monday, Feb. 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. The $10 meal offers salad, bread and spaghetti with meatballs while helping a bartender injured in a crash that claimed her partner’s life; cash donations will support her family. WNEM
- ➤ A Saginaw County family built an igloo using more than 150 ice blocks + showcasing a creative winter project that brings local ingenuity to life. ABC 12

- ➤ Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed a bill Tuesday morning that bans phone use in class; the law, which takes effect next school year, has Caro superintendent George Rierson and local Saginaw Township parents saying it will help students focus during lessons. WNEM
- ➤ Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed a bill on Feb. 10 that bans cell phone use during class in public schools + local districts must prepare to enforce the new rule. WNEM
- ➤ Fifteen students from Bay, Midland and Saginaw Counties received $1,000 scholarships at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Celebration at Saginaw Valley State University on Jan. 22. They completed service projects delivering care packages to local cancer patients as keynote speaker Cynthia Marshall inspired community service. MLive
- ➤ Saginaw Township Community Schools approved a pared down $94 million bond proposal for essential safety and facility repairs that voters will decide on May 5. The 1 mill tax increase would add about $60 a year to the bills of homeowners with a $120,000 house, following feedback from the community. ABC 12
