- ➤ Willie V. Allen, an Illinois man, was sentenced on Mar. 19th to life without parole and at least 74 additional years for killing a 50-year-old woman on May 26th at about 9:30 p.m. in Saginaw—he fled the scene in a vehicle, rammed a patrol car and exchanged gunfire with police before being arrested. - ➤ A teen who entered the courtroom on crutches a day before his 14th birthday testified that he accidentally shot his leg while trying to scare coyotes off his family's Buena Vista Township property; prosecutors say his mother may be held criminally liable under a gun storage law passed after the Oxford High School shooting, though her attorney argues the law was not meant for this situation.
