- ➤ Officials with Hunger Solution Center announced today that they launched the public phase of their $8.8M expansion fundraiser using the #PassYourPlate challenge to help fight food insecurity. The project will add a new kitchen, storage rooms and a larger dining room — with groundbreaking as early as spring and completion planned for next year. MLive
- ➤ At Frankie's Bar in Hemlock, 10% of Wednesday night's sales was donated to help cover part of the $10,000 cost for a service dog for 6-year-old Weston Mejia, who was born with Angelman Syndrome—community members gathered to support him as he made progress on his walking skills. ABC 12

- ➤ An internal memo suggested up to 80,000 VA jobs might be cut, and worry grew in Saginaw as demonstrators gathered at the Aleda E. Lutz Medical Center on Thursday. - ➤ State Representative Timmy Beson introduced House Bill 4191 to allow licensed baiting of deer and elk in the Lower Peninsula—this bill requires hunters to have valid deer hunting and baiting licenses and limits bait to five gallons per site per day while the $20 fee funds wildlife disease research—and the bill has been referred to the House Natural Resources and Tourism Committee for consideration.
