- ➤ Spectrum has awarded $35,000 to First Ward Community Center to support its workforce development program. Over the past three years, Spectrum has given a total of $125,000 (including Chromebooks, a Smartboard and 1-gigabit internet service) to boost local job training and community resources. - ➤ Seven abandoned puppies recovered on Jan. 6 from Bridgeport Township by Saginaw County Animal Care + Control and Bridgeport Township Police received medical care before being adopted into loving homes. Mid-Michigan NOW
- ➤ Visitors gathered at Chippewa Nature Center during the first weekend of spring for Maple Syrup Day and enjoyed a time-honored local tradition. The event brought the community together to sample maple treats and celebrate nature. WNEM
- ➤ Northwood University will host a community blood drive April 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hach Student Life Center at the Bennett Sports Complex to honor longtime team member Rhonda Sarafolean, and donors are invited to participate. MLive

- ➤ MyMichigan Medical Center Midland received a positive verification report from The Joint Commission on its maternity care program after reviewing clinical care, safety procedures, and staff training, which include community support services (childbirth education, lactation guidance, and postnatal support) to benefit local families.
