CRIME NEWS

  • A Saginaw Township man—who said he was 'pretty sure he was actively dying'—was stabbed more than 15 times at his home recording studio two years ago and fled to a neighbor’s house while he remains frustrated over ongoing court delays.  MLive
  • A Saint Louis woman, Bobbi Jo Shively, will face trial after she withdrew her no contest plea for an August 10 fatal crash in Saginaw Township—where a Chevy Malibu carrying 37-year-old Melissa Wood was struck by a Ford F150—while she faces charges of failing to stop and operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death.  WSGW
  • Oakland County Sheriff's Office charged 24-year-old Marcell Davon Joseph with three felonies for trafficking a 28-year-old Saginaw woman for prostitution—he is accused of physically hurting her and forcing her into sex acts for money and was arrested on March 21 in Madison Heights with a probable cause conference set for April 2.  ABC 12

CULTURE NEWS

  • Emagine theaters will offer specialty screenings in April at their Birch Run and Saginaw locations, including open caption films on Sunday and Wednesday afternoons and sensory‑friendly screenings for "Minecraft" on April 5th and "King of Kings" on April 15th. Mystery Movie Monday events on April 7th, 14th, and 21st will show a new release for $5+ before the film is shown to the general audience+.  WNEM

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel urged consumers today to check if they are eligible for compensation for certain generic drug purchases as the state seeks preliminary approval of a $39.1 million settlement with Apotex over alleged price inflation, which covers drugs bought between (May 2009 and December 2019). Consumers who believe they are affected are advised to use the provided contact methods to confirm eligibility.  WNEM
  • Starting April 2, Michigan will enforce a new child car seat law that requires children to stay in a rear-facing seat until they are at least 2 years old or exceed the seat's height and weight limits. The law also outlines guidelines for forward-facing seats and booster seats for older children (Michigan State Police will check for violations) to help keep kids safe in cars.  ABC 12
