  • Potter Street Station, owned by the Saginaw Depot Preservation Corp., will host a fundraiser this spring at the Saginaw Club—scheduled for Saturday, May 10 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.—to raise funds for roof repairs and restoration efforts. The event offers door prizes, hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction and presentations on the depot’s progress.  MLive

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Buena Vista Township police reported that an 86-year-old man and his 83-year-old wife—married for 61 years—died when their 2025 Equinox was T-boned at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 28 in heavy fog; a 28-year-old Silverado driver was hospitalized for leg injuries while her two young sons were unharmed.  MLive

CRIME NEWS

  • Saginaw police answered a Sunday evening call about a 33-year-old man with a knife who threatened suicide by cop; when he did not obey orders, officers tried non-lethal methods and then shot him in self-defense, and Michigan State Police will investigate.  ABC 12
  • Police arrested a 23-year-old suspect after he allegedly fired at a home in the 4400 block of Anne Street in Saginaw Township on March 30—callers reported the suspect made two passes in a gold sedan.  MLive
  • On Sunday evening around 9:15 p.m., a dispute among three males in the 2300 block of Witters Street resulted in a stabbing in which one person was struck with a screwdriver and another was hit with a garden tool— the stabbing victim sustained minor injuries while the suspect was taken to a local hospital with head and arm injuries.  Mid-Michigan NOW

  • Natalie Sika, a 20-year-old Saginaw Township resident with muscular dystrophy, has overcome barriers by modeling in adaptive fashion shows and performing in New York City ballet — she was diagnosed at age 6. As an MDA national ambassador, she studies communications and disorders while her journey inspires others to pursue their dreams despite challenges — a message for the community.  ABC 12
