- ➤ Zauel Memorial Library will close Monday, April 13 in Saginaw Township for two weeks of renovations — construction crews will install new flooring so the library is expected to reopen by the end of April. MLive

- ➤ Saginaw Arts & Enrichment Commission will honor local contributors at its 36th Annual All Area Arts Awards on May 6 at The Dow Event Center. The ceremony includes a 5:30 p.m. reception with world music and a 7 p.m. presentation of the Scott J. Seeburger Young Artist Award. MLive

- ➤ The Saginaw Art Museum & Gardens is launching Gardens and Galleries, a program that lets K-12 students explore art and nature through guided tours and hands-on projects in its historic gardens; transportation reimbursement is available to schools while funds last, and the program kicks off on Saturday, Apr. 25. - ➤ After heavy rain Saturday, flooding in Mid-Michigan kept many roads closed on Monday, including a key intersection in the Saginaw area, and slowed residents' departures. The M-52 bridge in St. Charles has reopened (ending a major detour) as water levels gradually recede. ABC 12

- ➤ Consumers Energy will file a new electric rate increase request with the Michigan Public Service Commission on or after June 2—Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said her office will intervene to protect customers. WSGW
- ➤ Officials from the 70th District Court and 10th Circuit Court are inviting local artists to create two murals celebrating America’s 250th birthday — contest entries are due by April 27 at the courthouse. They say the project will open courts for fresh community engagement through art. ABC 12
- ➤ Sen. Elissa Slotkin met with union leaders and workers from the Great Lakes Bay Region in Saginaw to discuss rising costs, job security, and manufacturing challenges. She also visited Delta Community College to review local workforce training programs. ABC 12
