- ➤ Faler Drugs, a 164-year-old family-run pharmacy (which began in 1862) at 1806 Court St., is closing today as siblings Michael, Sandra and Kevin Wenzel finish decades of service amid strict regulations and stress while customers share memorable goodbye hugs. MLive
- ➤ Landscaping companies in Saginaw warn that rising fuel costs could lead to higher job prices. At Lou’s Cutting-Edge Tree Service, owner Lewis Hanft said high diesel prices—now about $5.60 nationwide—may prompt adding a fuel surcharge on future jobs. WNEM

- ➤ The Dow Event Center’s Applied Innovation Theatre will host Riverdance 30: The New Generation Sunday, April 12 at 6 p.m.—a reimagined Irish dance show featuring a new soundtrack by Bill Whelan and updated stage, costume, lighting and projection designs for local audiences. MLive

- ➤ Saginaw Public Schools introduced a monthly Attendance Championship Belt to honor the elementary school with the best attendance record from March, with the winner to be announced next week + the belt, styled like a boxing prize, is designed to boost student engagement. MLive
- ➤ A $94 million school bond proposal, set for a May 5 vote, would fund safety and facility upgrades in local schools and raise residents’ taxes slightly. The plan has divided local voters, with some supporting the improvements and others worried about the extra cost. MLive

- ➤ A bipartisan bill will extend refundable health care tax credits for Delphi retirees in Michigan whose pensions were taken over by the PBGC. The Health Coverage Tax Credit Reauthorization Act would renew the subsidy through Jan. 1, 2030. WNEM

- ➤ MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw has opened a new lab draw station at its Family Medicine office on Shattuck Road in Saginaw Township to expand lab services; it accepts orders from any provider and welcomes both appointments and walk-ins (operating 7:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday). - ➤ The Saginaw County Mosquito Abatement Commission began its aerial treatment program Thursday in seasonally flooded woodlots to reduce mosquito larvae. Eight yellow aircraft from Al’s Aerial Spraying treated about 50,000 acres and helped lower West Nile virus risks + further community treatments will follow based on weather. WSGW
