- ➤ Saginaw City Council will vote on a purchase and development agreement for the former Civitan Recreation Center on Monday, Apr. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Andersen Enrichment Center (120 Ezra Rust Dr.). The Seals Group plans to acquire the vacant building for $1 and redevelop it for public, educational, and commercial use. MLive
- ➤ The Michigan Baseball Foundation announced its 2026 grant cycle and awarded $82,950 to 15 groups to fund youth development, education, health and community enrichment across seven counties (planning for the next cycle is underway). WNEM
- ➤ Zauel Library will close for construction starting Monday, Apr. 13. Library officials advise residents to use alternative resources during the work. WNEM
- ➤ Saginaw resident Doreather Cork turned 105 on Wed, Apr. 8 and remains at home with her daughter’s care. She credits God’s grace & family support for keeping her independent and full of life. MLive

- ➤ After a free seminar on April 10 at City Hall (1315 S. Washington Ave), Saginaw's Green Team will hold another seminar on April 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event features an electric vehicle display (Celebrate Arbor Day- One Tree at a Time!) and seedling giveaways. WNEM

- ➤ Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel warned that pump and dump scams using deepfake videos and deceptive ads on Facebook and WhatsApp are rising; her office offered tips to help Saginaw residents verify credentials and avoid pressure to invest. WNEM
- ➤ The groundbreaking ceremony for the $27 million wastewater treatment plant expansion took place yesterday in Saginaw as officials kick off the project with construction set to begin soon. WNEM
- ➤ Saginaw advises drivers that, during the Weiss Street Reconstruction Project, traffic signals at intersections of Weiss with Hermansau, Schaefer, and North Michigan will flash red until Nov. 1 (signals will return to normal once the work is complete). WNEM
