- ➤ The Saginaw County Animal Care & Control Resource Center updated its hours at 5615 Bay Road as kitten season begins, advising residents to intervene only if feral kittens appear sick or injured. The center stresses waiting to avoid disturbing the mother cat. WNEM

- ➤ A brief tornado touched down near East Newburg Road in Shiawassee County on Apr. 15 — damaging trees, homes and barns while wind speeds reached 80 mph and counties remained under flood watches until Thursday. MLive

- ➤ Pinconning Middle/High School removed a potential threat on April 16 with law enforcement assistance (confirming there was no danger to students) as investigators continue reviewing the incident. WNEM
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ After the wettest March to April 15 on record, Saginaw County Public Works told residents that standing water from heavy rains is expected to start draining over several days. Commissioner Brian Wendling urged locals to clear catch basin grates and gutters to help the county's 860 drains move water away. WNEM
- ➤ The City of Essexville reported that over two million gallons of partially treated sewage drained into the Saginaw River on Wednesday – officials have not yet shared further action plans. WNEM
