- ➤ Saginaw residents enjoyed the 47th annual Cinco de Mayo Parade on Saturday, May 2 along Ezra Rust Drive. More than 100 entrants showcased floats and community spirit while participants celebrated Mexican culture with candy throwing and local festivities — the celebration extended into later hours at nearby venues. - ➤ Phil King of Wally King Service (a family business) is easing his usual price hike as gas reaches about $5 per gallon, and he plans to sell the station by October before retiring. Customers on fixed incomes are feeling the strain from these high prices. ABC 12

- ➤ Austin Hare of Freeland threw a no-hitter on Senior Night in a 10-0 win against Bay City Central on Friday. He struck out four in a five-inning game as the Falcons celebrated his milestone. MLive
- ➤ Mitch Jebb, a former Swan Valley and Michigan State star, broke his thumb on April 27 while playing for the Pirates Triple-A team and will not return until the end of July. Previously promoted from Double-A, he had shown strong form with key plays in his brief stint. MLive
