- ➤ Nexteer laid off about 80 workers at its Global Technical Center in Buena Vista and at its Auburn Hills facility to adjust staff for future demand— the company is offering support and separation packages to those affected. WNEM
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Emagine Theaters announced it will host a summer movie series that starts on June 20 with The Garfield Movie and ends on August 22 with Trolls Band Together—tickets cost $3 per person and Magic Packs for kids cost $5 and include popcorn and a drink. WNEM
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday, the Saginaw Exchange Club honored eight law enforcement officers nominated by their department chiefs during its annual Officer of the Year Program. The awards were given to officers from the city, the FBI and state police agencies—recognizing their work to keep our region secure. ABC 12
- ➤ Michigan lawmakers passed a bill that requires lab-grown meat to be clearly labeled, and the bill now goes to the Senate for review (House Bill 4076 was meant to make food labels clear). If the Senate approves the bill, Gov. Whitmer will sign it (the rule will help shoppers know when meat comes from live animals). ABC 12
