  • The U.S. Census estimates show that while Michigan’s numbers grew in 2025, most Saginaw County areas lost residents, with Saginaw losing 152 people + a 30.69% drop from 2000; meanwhile, Frankenmuth + Kochville Township posted modest gains.  MLive
  • Saginaw Splash Park will open on Saturday, May 23 at Celebration Park for the summer season, operating from 11 a.m. + 7 p.m. while public restrooms and changing areas remain closed due to limited staffing.  WNEM

  • Brit Floyd, a tribute production recreating Pink Floyd's live spectacle, will perform at The Dow Event Center in downtown Saginaw on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Registered fans can access presale tickets today at 10 a.m., with general sales opening on May 22.  MLive
  • Burton Rock and Blues Festival will be held Saturday, May 23 from noon to 10 p.m. in Burton — the event promises live rock and blues music for fans of all ages.  ABC 12
  • Saginaw’s 10th annual Prom in the City was held on Saturday, May 16 at Kochville Veterans Hall with 175 attendees enjoying dinner, dancing and crowns or tiaras - an inclusive event created by Crystal Parker in honor of her niece.  MLive

  • Cleanup efforts are underway in several communities after Monday's severe weather brought heavy rain and strong wind gusts—prompting local crews to clear debris and repair property damage.  WNEM

  • The Korf/Schultz Track Meet lost its home in 2025 when Heritage High's track became unusable, and no school has yet stepped up to host future meets. Officials say a rotation plan among schools may bring back the historic event later.  MLive
  • Western's girls tennis team won the Bay County Girls Tennis Championship at Bangor Township thanks to freshman Addy Zanotti winning four to zero in No. 1 singles; the Warriors earned their eighth title as a storm forced the final ceremony indoors (at John Glenn).  MLive
