  • A Saginaw police officer from the K9 unit and his handler responded to Mike’s Wrecker on May 19 and discovered live pipe bombs in an abandoned truck on the city's west side — the Michigan State Police Bomb Squad later deactivated and destroyed the devices.  WNEM

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City leaders are finalizing plans to purchase one acre from the 52-acre, long-vacant former fairgrounds near Genesee and Webber to build a public park that will restore the historic gateway. The project may spur redevelopment on the east side and will include decorative gates, lighting, parking, and an informational kiosk—construction is set to possibly begin in 2026 if further funding arrives.  WNEM
