  • The Rotary Club of Saginaw is raising funds to renovate Crayola Park & upgrade its facilities for local residents. The project aims to improve the park for community gatherings.  ABC 12

  • Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland uses a machine that normally makes cheese puffs plus produces biodegradable packing peanuts from potato, pea, and corn starch for its shipping department. The switch lowers costs and offers an eco-friendly alternative to traditional styrofoam packaging.  WNEM

ECONOMY NEWS

  • AAA reported Michigan gas prices fell by 20 cents from last week to an average of $4.63 per gallon during Memorial Day weekend, even as prices remain 63 cents higher than last month and $1.42 more than last year with a typical 15-gallon fill costing $69.  WNEM

  • At Saginaw United High School's ceremony on Tuesday, May 26, Precious Sherman accepted her slain son Deon Wiley III's diploma on his behalf at the Dow Event Center, where 4,000 attendees paid tribute & the school remembered Wiley, who died after prom earlier this week.  MLive
  • Saginaw United High School seniors graduated at Dow Event Center on Tuesday, May 26 and mourned classmate Deon Wiley III (shot and killed), marking the ceremony with both joy and sorrow.  WNEM

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Michigan state officials urge campers to avoid moving untreated firewood to stop invasive species from spreading and harming local agriculture and forests. They advise keeping fires small and safe as part of a statewide campaign for summer camping safety.  MLive

  • MDOT is urging drivers to slow down and stay alert in construction zones as summer travel picks up. Roadwork on M-58 and I-75 will shift lanes and require extra caution to protect road crews and motorists.  Mid-Michigan NOW

HEALTH NEWS

  • Cars & Crafts supported Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute yesterday by uniting local car lovers and craft makers in a fundraising event in our community. The event gave residents a chance to help support cancer care.  ABC 12

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Between July 2024 and July 2025, Michigan added about 22,500 housing units statewide. In Saginaw County, the housing stock grew by 65 units—a 0.075% increase—while Wayne County added 4,037 units, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates.  MLive
