CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Stephen W. Barry, 23, has been charged with causing the death of 76-year-old Elvia Rivera after his Ford flipped during a high-speed crash on Dec. 1 on I-75 in Birch Run Township near Canada Road—Barry was arrested on May 22 and is free on bond. MLive
- ➤ A Flint man, Trevor T. Relerford — formerly known as Brownlee after a 16-year-old murder conviction — is charged with drunk driving after his 2015 Dodge Ram crashed into a Michigan State Police vehicle on Jan. 29 on I‑75, forcing a trooper to leap over a median; he will appear for a preliminary examination on June 10. - ➤ The Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum at Saginaw Valley State University in Kochville Township is set to host the 2025 Regional Biennial Juried Sculpture Exhibition from June 7 to Aug. 30 with over 50 sculptures from seven states; award winners and monetary prizes will be announced at the June 7 opening reception — drawing attention to the region's art scene. - ➤ The Michigan Department of Transportation will start a $1.3 million resurfacing project on M-52 in southern Saginaw County on June 2 and finish by month’s end. The project will create single-lane closures from the M-57 intersection in Chesaning to the limits of St. Charles — drivers should plan alternate routes. MLive
