- ➤ Saginaw County Parks and Recreation is hosting the 37th Catch Me If You Can Family Fishing Festival on Saturday, June 6 at William H. Haithco Recreation Area (2121 Schust in Saginaw Township). The free event runs 8-11 a.m., and the first 150 children to register receive fishing poles and bait. MLive

- ➤ Consumers Energy is conducting line clearing along 9,000 miles of power lines today to prevent outages by trimming trees and limbs and increasing monitoring to alert to hazards, while community tree planting grants that have supported nearly 5,500 new trees cost $730,000 since 2017 + help keep service stable. - ➤ Kehlani announced her 33-stop North American tour (including a Metro Detroit stop) at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill in Sterling Heights on Thursday, Aug. 13. Tickets will be on sale starting Friday, May 29 at 10 a.m. MLive
- ➤ The theater venue at Dow Event Center in Saginaw was renamed Applied Innovation Theater — a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held yesterday to mark the new partnership focused on enhancing local entertainment and community connection. Mid-Michigan NOW
- ➤ The first annual Saginaw Tattoo Fest will run from Friday, May 29 until Sunday, May 31 at the Dow Event Center. Celebrity and local tattoo artists will offer tattoos (advance bookings accepted or walk-up service on a first-come basis) amid live entertainment and vendor competitions. MLive

- ➤ On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, 262 Saginaw United High School graduates walked the stage at the Dow Event Center during commencement. The ceremony celebrated achievement and included a tribute for Deon Wiley III (honored with his diploma) following his tragic death earlier that week. MLive
- ➤ Yesterday, Saginaw Covenant Academy held a ribbon cutting at 508 S. Washington Ave and unveiled a new conference room, extra classrooms, and upgraded restroom facilities including a bathroom + a shower for the alternative high school program serving ages 15–22. Mid-Michigan NOW

- ➤ UAW Local 699 will vote on a tentative agreement with Nexteer Automotive today. Voting runs from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. Friday at the Local 699 Union Hall in Saginaw. WNEM
