- ➤ Sterling Area Health Center will hold multiple food giveaways to help families get food during summer break. The center aims to support local residents as students remain home. WNEM
- ➤ Great Lakes Bay Pride is celebrating Pride Month with events across Bay, Isabella, Midland and Saginaw counties. Yard sign pick-ups occur today — a Pride Night game is scheduled on Friday, and a regional festival with a drag show happens on Saturday, June 27. WNEM

- ➤ Downtown Saginaw hosted its inaugural Tattoo Festival on Jun. 1, showcasing local ink artists, live art demonstrations, and creative vendors in a vibrant street celebration (community turnout was strong). WNEM

- ➤ Mid-Michigan gas prices differ drastically: Tuscola stations list unleaded from $3.92—$3.96, Flint offers prices as low as $3.59, and Saginaw stations charge around $4.15—GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan said differences are due to local cost pressures and urged consumers to shop around. WNEM

- ➤ Governor Whitmer has created the Every Child Reads Champions Council to boost literacy by bringing together local leaders in education, business, government & community, with the 16-member panel expected to be in place by August. WNEM
- ➤ The Saginaw Community Foundation will award a record $2.9M in scholarships to 648 students at its 39th annual Excellence in Education event on Wednesday, June 3 at Horizons Conference Center in Saginaw Township (1,000+ attendees including recipients and donors are expected during the open house from 4:45 to 7:30 p.m.). - ➤ Fifteen Burton-area students with special needs joined Meijer’s workforce through the Project SEARCH internship program recently, gaining hands-on experience at the local store. Meijer’s Burton director said the program boosted interns’ confidence — an opportunity to build real-world skills for future job opportunities. ABC 12

- ➤ Yesterday, the seven-mile wildlife drive at the 10,000-acre Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge opened at (6000 Bishop Road) and runs daily from dawn to dusk through forests, wetlands, and prairies until Sept. 30. Visitors can observe local wildlife on the scenic route. MLive

- ➤ Fans can vote for Saginaw Athlete of the Week until 10 p.m. Thursday—after top high school athletes earned state and district honors in a week of standout sports from May 24 to 30. MLive
- ➤ At Saturday’s MHSAA track meet in Rockford, five local athletes and one relay team earned state titles. Heritage’s Jase Behmlander jumped 6-10 (his personal best) while Swan Valley’s Jamison Pelt claimed the long jump crown. MLive
