- ➤ Food insecurity has grown in Saginaw as Hidden Harvest and East Side Soup Kitchen served 800 to 900 meals a day, 200 more than last year — food agencies say rising costs and federal funding cuts have left more families, including the working poor, without enough food. The organizations will expand their facilities by the end of the summer with a new drive-through window and more cold storage — a plan designed to help meet the growing demand. ABC 12

- ➤ An 83-year-old man from Saginaw was hit by a vehicle while walking in a Walmart parking lot in Petoskey on June 1—he died in the hospital on June 2. MLive

- ➤ Saginaw County District Court delayed the preliminary hearing for Deran F. Henton, 38, charged with torturing his live-in girlfriend — his attorney withdrew and new counsel requested extra time — and a new hearing will be set next week. MLive
- ➤ Buena Vista Township police said early Sunday that 41-year-old Demetrious Robinson of Saginaw was fatally shot after leaving an unlicensed club on Wadsworth Road—he was struck 16 times while a woman with him received a graze wound, and police are seeking the suspect. WSGW

- ➤ CMU Health has launched a new food pantry at its Women and Children’s Center in Saginaw to provide emergency food assistance for expectant mothers—funded by a $5,000 grant from Molina Healthcare and in partnership with Eastern Michigan Food Bank.
