Reinert (68) faces first-degree vulnerable adult abuse charges after camera footage showed him repeatedly beating and insulting his bedridden friend with dementia, a man he cared for at $500 a month in Saginaw, and he remains jailed on a $30,000 bond (15-year felony pending trial). - ➤ Officials in Saginaw County said lab tests found West Nile virus in a dead crow collected in central Saginaw in late May, marking the season’s first detection noted earlier than last year. In 2024, 31 Michigan residents tested positive (24 in 2023), and officials said residents should take precautions to avoid mosquito bites. MLive
