- ➤ Michigan-based SpartanNash announced a definitive merger with C&S Wholesale Grocers on Monday and will be sold for $1.77 billion by year-end, with C&S paying $26.90 per share in cash pending shareholder and regulatory approvals (closing conditions apply) and the transaction is set to complete later this year (final reviews pending). - ➤ During a traffic stop on Saginaw’s East Side on June 22, 2025, Michigan State Police troopers at about 12:25 a.m. arrested four people—three felons—and recovered three stolen guns, loaded magazines and suspected crack cocaine near Rust Avenue/M-46. MLive
- ➤ A local parolee, Deangelo M. McNeal, accused of killing a young witness who shot him in self-defense and later testified against him, appeared in Saginaw County District Court on June 24 and his defense requested an adjournment until key evidence such as an autopsy report and multiple witness interviews is received — delaying the prosecution. - ➤ MyMichigan Medical Center in Saginaw was placed under lockdown after a suspicious item was discovered, and police & the bomb squad have been investigating the incident since it occurred on June 24th. WNEM

- ➤ Samaritas is hosting the Michigan Teen Conference at Saginaw Valley State University to give life skills training to foster teens aged 14 to 23, including those soon to age out. - ➤ The Saginaw County Mosquito Abatement Commission confirmed the presence of the invasive Aedes aegypti mosquito in our area and is working with local health officials to monitor the situation. - ➤ An invasive Aedes aegypti mosquito was collected for the first time in Saginaw County, and experts say it may spread diseases like Zika, Dengue, and Chikungunya.
