- ➤ On July 7, a Saginaw woman testified that her ex-boyfriend, Deran F. Henton, tortured her for hours during a May 16 assault at her South 10th Street apartment by breaking her bones and stabbing her with kitchen utensils — she escaped when he passed out — and he now faces multiple felony charges. - ➤ Saginaw Public Schools mourn the loss of 15 year old athlete Timmie Favorite Jr. who died at a large party in Carrollton Township on July 5. He finished eighth grade at Thompson Middle School and was set to begin high school later this summer — officials said the cause of his death may remain unknown. MLive
