- ➤ A 79-year-old woman died after firefighters pulled her from a house fire in the 12000 block of Moorish Road in Taymouth Township—just before 7 p.m.—as a Saginaw County sheriff deputy cut his arm breaking through a window, was treated for minor injuries, and investigators from the Michigan State Police Fire Investigating Unit work to determine the cause. - ➤ A house fire in Taymouth Township on Sunday claimed the life of a 79-year-old woman—fire crews arrived just before 7:00 p.m. at the 12000 block of Moorish Road and a sheriff’s deputy sustained minor injuries breaking a window to enter the house. WSGW

- ➤ A 50-year-old woman crashed into a home on Flushing Road near Pierson Road early Tuesday morning—starting a fire before she fled on foot, and authorities later arrested her while urging witnesses to call 810-659-3119. ABC 12
- ➤ 82-year-old Duncan Erving was sentenced to 6 months probation and 120 hours of community service after pleading no contest to a moving violation causing death — his crash into state police cruisers led to Trooper Joel Popp's fatality as he was placing flares at an accident scene. - ➤ MDOT began a $900K resurfacing project on M-30 starting Monday, July 21 and is working to finish by Aug. 22 — the project will resurface four miles of roadway, rebuild a railroad crossing, and close the road until July 28 with detours available. MLive
