- ➤ Saginaw Township welcomed Small Town Scoops—now open in the old Mooney’s Ice Cream shop location on State Street—today. The shop, led by co-owner Cierra Curdup, offers flavors like Orange Pineapple, Honey Lavender, Birthday Cake and Michigan favorites such as Superman and Blue Moon and is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 25-year-old DJ named Ron’Darius Jones was arrested Tuesday at Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort for deleting security footage linked to a Buena Vista Township murder at the Pole Barn on the 3200 block of Wadsworth Road where 41-year-old Demetrious Robinson was shot, and he is held on a $95,000 bond with a next court date set for August 20—police said he is a friend of 39-year-old Marcellus Emerson who faces an open murder charge. - ➤ Saginaw man Jason M. Klich was charged in Saginaw County District Court on July 31 for allegedly pouring gasoline around an occupied house's detached garage early on July 30 while reportedly intoxicated — his relative had called 911 after an assault was reported. MLive
- ➤ David Little reached a $500,000 settlement with the city and its insurer after he was arrested on January 5 when police suspected him of breaking windows, spent five days in jail, and had his charges dropped 15 months later—his case led to changes in police training as one officer was promoted and another left.
