ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Earlier Wednesday morning, a semi crashed on the northbound I-75 ramp to I-675—damaging part of the guard rail—and the Michigan Department of Transportation closed the ramp.  WNEM

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Koegel Meats Inc. is introducing a new Flint Style Coney Sauce developed in its test kitchen to match local flavor preferences in the Great Lakes Bay Region and supply Coney Island restaurants. The product follows last year's Jalapeño & Cheese varieties and offers customers a local taste option (Koegel's Chili Sauce remains preferred near Detroit).  WNEM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Saginaw Township Community Schools board will ask voters on Nov. 4 to approve a $169 million bond proposal to upgrade all eight school buildings after a larger $243 million plan was turned down in May. Superintendent Jamie Kraatz said the funds will address safety and modern learning issues with entrance, bathroom, and HVAC system upgrades — costing homeowners of a $100,000 home roughly $142.50 per year.  ABC 12
  • Residents in Saginaw Township will vote this November on a $169 million bond proposal to upgrade all eight school facilities with modern safety, classroom, and facility improvements — the measure includes a 2.85 mill tax increase estimated to add about $11.88 per month on a $50,000 taxable home as the district plans a special election despite previous voter rejection.  Mid-Michigan NOW

  • Saginaw Township Community Schools has proposed a $169.2 million bond to improve all eight school facilities — voters will decide on the plan during the Nov. 4 election. If approved, the bond will raise taxes by 2.85 mills and community forums will be held to explain the needed updates.  MLive

HEALTH NEWS

  • Today, Michigan health officials and partners at Delta Dental + Blue Cross Blue Shield held a virtual press conference to mark 25 years of the Healthy Kids Dental Plan that has improved children's oral health. Officials said the program has reduced tooth decay and will continue to help kids receive the dental care they need.  ABC 12
