- ➤ Coy’s Comics is moving from its Bay Road space to a larger location at 3100 Enterprise Drive—its moving sale from Aug. 15 to Aug. 17 helps clear inventory as the shop closes on Aug. 23 and reopens on Aug. 27 with plans for a soft opening and a grand opening in September. MLive
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Saint Charles man pleaded no contest to drunk driving charges after crashing his pickup truck into a tree on January 19 in Saint Charles Township, killing passenger Amanda Rogers of Brant and fleeing on foot before being arrested two days later—his sentencing is pending. WSGW
- ➤ Keino Hughes, a 42-year-old Saginaw man, was sentenced to 151 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to possession with intent to deliver cocaine—BAYANET agents found cocaine, $17,000, digital scales, and firearms at his home last July. WSGW
- ➤ A Saginaw physician, James Carthron, M.D., was charged with 23 counts of Medicaid Fraud for billing phone visits that were never provided between May 31 and September 27, 2024—he was arraigned on August 13th and will face a probable cause conference on August 22nd with a preliminary examination scheduled for August 28th. - ➤ A 16-year-old Saginaw Township resident was convicted of first-degree murder after firing at least 21 shots from an assault rifle outside his home in July 2024, fatally wounding 24-year-old Dennis C. Mayes Jr.—jurors deliberated for two hours on Aug. 15. MLive
