- ➤ Jessie Trommer celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends at her Flushing home on Monday — enjoying cake, ice cream, and balloons while receiving a certificate from Mt. Morris Township and the Krapohl Senior Center to honor her milestone. ABC 12
- ➤ The Saginaw Community Food Club & Kitchen is a new nonprofit grocery store planned to open in spring 2026 at 310 Meredith St. to serve food deserts — officials need an additional $1.5M to cover its increased $6.5M cost as construction is expected to finish by January. MLive

- ➤ A new Panera Bread location is under construction on the site of a demolished car wash on State Street in Saginaw Township—crews have begun building the foundation but its opening remains unclear. MLive
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Devaughntae Q. Woods pleaded guilty on May 12 after he led police on a chase that ended in a collision injuring two civilians + he admitted resisting police, fleeing, and possessing a narcotic as a fourth-time habitual offender facing severe penalties. MLive
- ➤ Saginaw police are asking for help identifying a man and a woman involved in an assault on the 100 block of South Hamilton on Aug. 18 at about 10:10 p.m.—details remain limited as the investigation continues. WNEM
- ➤ On Wednesday after midnight, Saginaw firefighters responded to two suspicious fires at a house on the 2100 block of Ledyard Street—first tackling heavy flames at the front and then a second blaze at 4:30 a.m.—with no injuries reported as the investigation continues. ABC 12
