- ➤ A Saginaw skatepark will be transformed into a mural at Frank N. Andersen Celebration Park when residents join a free community paint event on Saturday, Sept. 13—from noon to 8 p.m. Organized by Community Alliance for the People, the day will provide paint supplies, live entertainment, and food trucks to celebrate local art and city resilience. - ➤ American Rheinmetall announced a $31.7 million investment to build a new headquarters in Auburn Hills and expand operations at facilities across Michigan. Confirmed by Gov. Whitmer’s office on Sept. 9, the move will create 450 jobs—strengthening Michigan’s defense industry. MLive

- ➤ Buena Vista Township police recovered nine specialized racing wheelchairs stolen last month from Troy’s Agape Project that helps people with disabilities join 5k races and found additional stolen items including two trailers and a side-by-side — new property owners discovered the gear in a garage. - ➤ The Bay Area Community Foundation will hold its free Launch Your Future workshop on November 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Delta College Planetarium in Bay City to guide high school seniors and adult learners in accessing scholarships, financial aid, and educational resources — participants may register and apply for one of two $1,000 scholarships. - ➤ Saginaw’s Williams Street will be resurfaced using $180,000 in state funds starting Monday, Sept. 15 until work ends on Friday, Sept. 19—single-lane closures will guide traffic during the project. MLive
- ➤ A GHOST deputy said a bipartisan bill was introduced to change Michigan's sextortion law—its new rules will tighten penalties and offer stronger support for victims. Lawmakers will meet soon to review the bill. WNEM
