- ➤ Yesterday, the Shiawassee Family YMCA broke ground to build a fully licensed childcare center that will include separate rooms for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers—staff said the renovation will also add a new fitness center and aims to address the local childcare shortage with plans to open by the next school year. - ➤ Antique Toy and Firehouse Museum in Bangor Township houses the world’s largest collection of firetrucks built by Jimmie Dobson over decades — a space that now stands as both a historical collection and a memorial. Today at 10 a.m. the museum will host an event to honor the memories of 9/11 and the 1990 Saginaw River tanker explosion. MLive

- ➤ The Michigan Public Service Commission approved new rules that raise outage bill credits to $42 per day and increase gas safety fines to $202,511 per violation per day. Starting October 1, customers with long power outages will see credits added automatically to their bills and enforcement updated to ensure safety. WSGW
