- ➤ Due to funding shortages, the Saginaw YMCA canceled its food giveaways for September, October, and December—leaving residents in need to seek alternatives. In a drive-thru event on Monday, the East Side Soup Kitchen distributed over 25,000 pounds of food to help many in Saginaw. WNEM

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Mott Community College is inviting students, faculty and the community to shape its 2026/2027 plan through a 15-minute survey and listening sessions in Clio, Lapeer, Fenton and Flint—with the survey open until Friday, Oct. 3. The effort comes amid leadership controversy following the approval of President Shaunda Richardson-Snell’s contract. WNEM
