- ➤ MyMichigan Health will host its first Trunk-or-Treat event on Oct. 18 from noon to 2 p.m. at MyMichigan Health Park Saginaw — 1015 S. Washington where children will enjoy decorated vehicles, costumes and treats from local food trucks and see local police and fire personnel. MLive
- ➤ After Sunday's shooting, community groups and local businesses rallied to support first responders and grieving families in Grand Blanc — the Salvation Army served food and water at the Family Reclamation Center while Great Harvest Bread Company donated 10% of its sales. Mid-Michigan NOW

- ➤ Neighbors gathered at Hillside Church in Grand Blanc Township after a deadly church shooting killed five, injured eight and destroyed the building by fire—investigators continue to search for a motive as community leaders plan more vigils to help those affected. WNEM

- ➤ Theresa Caputo, known as the Long Island Medium, will perform live at Firekeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek at 8 p.m. on Nov. 14 and 15. She will also appear at the Saginaw Events Center at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 5—a show that gives fans a chance to receive messages from loved ones who have passed. MLive

- ➤ Michael Gavin has announced his resignation as president of Delta College, effective January 2026, to lead a national coalition defending higher education—his board will meet in the next two weeks to discuss the transition and search for his replacement. MLive
