- ➤ HELP CVI opened two safe zones at 1708 Johnson Street and at the corner of Court and Hamilton Street to give Saginaw residents safe places to gather and connect. The nonprofit said it will add 10 more zones using community walks, safety briefings, and drone patrols — a plan to reduce violence and build trust. Mid-Michigan NOW
- ➤ Volunteers will plant 20 trees at district athletic fields tomorrow at 8:45 a.m.—the effort will replace trees lost when a tornado hit in May. ReLeaf Michigan, the U.S. Forest Service and the DNR Urban and Community Forestry Program will manage the planting across five school properties. MLive

- ➤ Sherwood Elementary School's indoor pool at 3870 Shattuck Road in Saginaw Township is nearly restored & will reopen early to mid-November after $1.9M in state funds covered work that started on June 16 and is set to complete by Oct. 31.
