- ➤ Gideon Boxing Club in Saginaw, an all-inclusive gym and nonprofit for kids and adults, has asked the state for $100,000 to cover membership costs and fund a bus for transportation—an effort to make its programs more accessible. The club will host a boxing event this Saturday, Oct.4 at 2:30 p.m.—with proceeds supporting its youth programs. ABC 12

- ➤ Consumers Energy got approval from the Michigan Public Service Commission for a natural gas rate increase of $157.5 million, which is 37% lower than its original request after Attorney General Dana Nessel's advocacy. In a separate case, Nessel has challenged a proposed electric rate increase of $436 million — along with a request for $24 million in deferred cost recovery — and recommended limiting the overall hike to no more than 3.5%.
