- ➤ 22-year-old boxer Tyrone Welch from Saginaw died after competing in a match at the Gideon Boxing Club on Hancock Street on Saturday—he felt ill following his fight, sought medical care, and died at the hospital while an autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death. ABC 12

- ➤ The Climate Prediction Center forecasts a 71% chance for weak La Niña conditions from October through December in Saginaw—conditions that usually bring cooler air and more rain with near-normal snowfall.
