- ➤ Local historian Gordy Garris will present 'A Look at the Future of the Saginaw River with Images of the River and the Great Lakes' at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Bay City—free refreshments will be served at an intermission. MLive

- ➤ At Friday's football game, Saginaw Nouvel Catholic Central High School honored principal Tim Marciniak by applauding his legacy after he passed away early Friday morning following a battle with cancer—students, parents and Father Peter Gaspeny recalled his dedication and support for the school. - ➤ Millington High School beat Laker High School 14-3 in a football game on Friday, Oct. 10—Millington led 7-0 at halftime and made key plays to secure the win. MLive
- ➤ Ethan Hamby nearly achieved perfection on Saturday as he threw 20 of 21 passes for 224 yards and five touchdowns+leading his Northwood team to a 52-7 win over Lake Erie. MLive
- ➤ Freeland’s Keenan Cooper scored four touchdowns and ran for 208 yards in the team’s 35-14 homecoming win over Bay City John Glenn on Friday. His standout performance earned him the Saginaw-area Friday Night Hero honor—an impressive boost for his career. MLive
- ➤ SVSU recorded six touchdowns for a 55-10 win over Roosevelt on Saturday. The Cardinals improved to a 3-3 record and will face Grand Valley State on October 18th—pushing ahead in the conference—. MLive
