- ➤ Tomorrow, Oct. 17 a new Crumbl cookie shop opens at Green Acres Plaza in Saginaw Township with extended hours from 8 a.m. to midnight and festivities including giveaways and a DJ party from 2 to 4 p.m. (Andrew and Erica Lord own the location) (the store will offer free T-shirts for the first 100 customers and a contest for free cookies for adults). - ➤ Michigan Cream & Sugar Ice Cream Company is shipping its artisan frozen treats nationwide starting this fall from its two Mid-Michigan locations. Local deliveries are available within a 22-mile radius of its Saginaw Old Town store on Wednesdays and Fridays — orders for the 48 continental states ship on Mondays with expected delivery by 5 p.m. Tuesday. - ➤ More than two weeks after a gunman drove a truck into a church in Grand Blanc Township and opened fire on worshippers, church leaders including Pastor Tim Jahn at Messiah Lutheran are reviewing safety measures—lawmakers have introduced the Pray Safe Act to guide security improvements at houses of worship. - ➤ Consumers Energy is offering help with winter heating bills as its CARE program now accepts applications to provide affordable payment plans — applicants must be eligible and meet income guidelines.
