- ➤ Hamilton Street Pub, a long-time local spot at 308 S. Hamilton St., is offering $5 meals Tuesday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. throughout November due to the government shutdown and will host a free Thanksgiving feast on November 27—new lunch hours will begin November 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the full menu is available until close at 2 a.m. MLive
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Alma College beat Trine 42 to 28 as Eddie Williams ran for four touchdowns and Zach Poff caught a 24 yard pass. The win kept the team unbeaten at 5 to 0 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Conference—helping them get ready for next games. MLive
- ➤ Millington earned a walk-off win in its Division 7 playoff opener on Friday after building a 49-0 lead by halftime — Burton Bendle did not return to the field, advancing the team to a second-round matchup and improving its record to 8-2. MLive
- ➤ Nouvel Catholic Central earned a 34-28 win over Michigan Lutheran Seminary on Friday - improving to 8-2 and setting up a district final against Beal City. MLive
- ➤ Frankenmuth won a 56-0 playoff game over Yale Friday and moved to a 9-1 record (they have reached at least nine wins for 14 straight seasons). Swan Valley also reached 9-1 after beating Clare. MLive
- ➤ Wynn Diegel threw for 334 yards and four touchdowns to lead Midland Dow to a 51 to 15 playoff win over Waterford Mott. The team improved to a 9 to 1 record and will host a Division 2 district final against East Lansing. MLive
- ➤ Saginaw Valley State University's Cardinals lost 31-17 to Davenport Saturday after they turned the ball over four times—three interceptions and one fumble. Their mistakes dropped the team's record to 5-4. MLive
- ➤ Ithaca ended Valley Lutheran’s season in the first round of the playoffs by shutting out the Chargers in the second half—handing them their first loss of the season. MLive
- ➤ Northwood University lost to undefeated Findlay 31-16 on Saturday at Northwood, with Northwood scoring on a 50-yard field goal by freshman Drew Cady (Oxford) and a touchdown from sophomore Ethan Hamby from Macomb Dakota while Findlay improved to 9-0. Findlay led 14-3 at halftime before pulling ahead in a game that proved too much for Northwood. MLive
- ➤ Freeland lost 17-13 in a Division 4 playoff game at Escanaba after scoring all 13 points in the final quarter. Escanaba recovered an onside kick with 1:06 left — a move that secured their win and set up a district-final matchup against Big Rapids. MLive
