  • A tunnel & treehouse project at Coal Miners Park will honor a 7-year-old boy as the St. Charles community turns a tragedy into a lasting legacy. The memorial reflects a shared effort to heal and inspire local residents.  WNEM
  • AAA is offering its Tow to Go program this holiday season to help keep impaired drivers off the road. The service will start at 6:00 p.m. and run throughout the year-end holidays.  Mid-Michigan NOW
  • On Friday, Dec. 19, UAW Local 668 hosted its Christmas food basket event at 2104 Farmer St where GM workers, dressed as elves, collected donations through a gate drive to fund 120 food boxes for over 100 local households, partnering with the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan & local groups.  MLive

  • Michigan farmers will soon receive a federal $12 billion aid package through USDA for cash-crop producers, including corn and soybeans, with payments expected by Feb. 28. Officials say the short-term support addresses rising production costs and market disruptions while groups urge long-term solutions for sustainable farming.  MLive
  • Gas prices in Michigan dropped 12 cents from last week to $2.73 per gallon over the weekend, setting a new low for 2025. Many holiday travelers in Saginaw will benefit from lower pump prices as they prepare to hit the road.  ABC 12
