- ➤ Saginaw Township Police will host National Night Out today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Township Soccer Complex to boost police-community ties—featuring patrol cars, helicopters, interactive displays, and fun activities for kids. WNEM
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday morning, Michigan State Police said a crash in Union Township killed one driver and seriously injured the other — officials are investigating the incident. WNEM
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 1-year-old boy was shot and killed and a 25-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting on Monday evening near Robinwood Avenue and Erie Street on Saginaw’s south side—officers arrived just before 7 p.m. and transported the victims to Covenant HealthCare. ABC 12
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ In August, Michigan drivers saw gas prices drop 10 cents to an average of 3.13 dollars per gallon with a 15-gallon fill costing about 46 dollars—a figure lower than last July's high, and in Saginaw the price is the lowest at 3.04 dollars per gallon. AAA spokesperson Adrienne Woodland warned that if demand rises and stocks tighten, pump prices could increase again. Mid-Michigan NOW

- ➤ On July 22nd, a state inspector reviewed Saginaw County Animal Care & Control and found six critical violations—such as inadequate kennels and unsanitary conditions—that require prompt correction. MLive

- ➤ Saginaw's Eleanor Frank Senior Center provided a safe indoor space today—helping seniors avoid unhealthy air quality from Canadian wildfires that caused the tenth advisory of the season. Health officials advise limiting outdoor activities and using air purifiers—especially for those with respiratory issues. ABC 12
